Sayyiduna Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (God be pleased with him) said: “If you desire the perfect pleasure of God in this world and the Hereafter, strive to love the Prophet (God bless him and give him peace) until you make it an actual intimate experience because whoever attains this love obtains the perfect pleasure of God in this world and the Hereafter. And there is no more effective way to seek his love than to persevere in invoking salat upon him with presence of heart coupled with veneration and exaltation for Allah and His Sent.

Indeed, perseverance in this makes his love sprout in his heart, which does not cease to grow and increase through constancy in the salat upon him, until there is no room in that heart for anything other than him.
Whoever reaches this state sees his spirit merge with the spirit of the Prophet in the invisible, and the latter draws him toward God, dragging him into the ocean of esoteric knowledge and mystical realization. He will be among the true knowers, not by subjective belief but by direct vision.
This is the supreme satisfaction of God for the one who attains actual knowledge, for in love of the Prophet (God bless him and give him peace) lies the satisfaction of God.”
