Shaykh Muhammad b. ‘Ali al-Sanusi said:

“And among those I encountered from the people of this station of witnessing—and to Allah belongs all praise—was our Shaykh, the unique Imam Abu al-‘Abbas Ahmad al-Tijani. He informed me that he recited the Qur’an directly to the Prophet ﷺ both in wakefulness and in sleep. He was extra diligent, from what we know, in following the Prophet’s Sunna in all of his movements. He honored me by transmitting to me the Quran with this [aforementioned] chain of transmission after I had recited it to him from the beginning. I heard [the Quran] directly from him, from Sura al-Rahman [onward], and he granted me a general authorization with his chain and other chains—may Allah be pleased with him!”
